Thriving Kids: youth-led support in challenging times
In November, our new Thriving Kids project rolls out across Queensland and we couldn’t be more excited. We’ve spoken before about the powerful role young people are already playing when their communities go through hard times. This program gives them the space, tools, and support to do that with more confidence and care.
Together with Thriving Kids Queensland, PCYC Cadets, and Wesley Mission Headspace, we’re offering Youth Psychological First Aid training for young people aged 12 to 25. It’s trauma-aware, practical, and built around real conversations (the kind young people want to have).
Workshops will take place in the Wide Bay–Burnett region and have been co-designed with youth participants. That means the sessions are grounded in lived experience, focused on strengths, and full of practical takeaways, not lectures.
We’re proud to be part of a growing network of people backing the next generation with the knowledge, skills, and support they need to thrive.
