Starting the conversation: Disaster planning for community members with support needs and carers

Do you or someone you care for have support needs? Plan C warmly invites you to a free, inclusive and practical workshop series designed for people with disability, carers, support workers and allies.

These sessions are an introduction – a chance to start the conversation and build confidence. They are not about completing your Person-Centered Emergency Preparedness (P-CEP) plan, but about exploring first steps and resources that can support you on the journey.

This is a welcoming space to share experiences, ask questions, and gain confidence in preparing for future emergencies.

In each session you’ll:

  • Identify personal risks in floods, fires and heatwaves

  • Learn practical steps to stay safe

  • Explore what to do when deciding to STAY or GO in a disaster

  • Discover resources that can help you later develop a personalised emergency action plan

Made possible with support from the NSW Reconstruction Authority’s Supporting Spontaneous Volunteers Program.

Morning tea is included, and we’ll make space for connecting with others in a relaxed and supportive environment.
