Some lovely recognition for Plan C

We’re pretty thrilled to share that our Surviving Disasters youth resilience program has been named a finalist in the 2026 Resilient Australia Awards NSW!

The awards recognise initiatives helping communities become more resilient to disasters, and it means a lot to see this work with young people recognised alongside other important resilience initiatives across NSW.

Surviving Disasters has grown and evolved through the ideas, experiences and honest feedback of the young people who have taken part, alongside the schools, facilitators and community partners who have supported the program along the way. We’re incredibly grateful to Multicultural NSW and the COMPACT Alliance for supporting this work and making it possible.

And, in a lovely bit of news that arrived just as we were putting this newsletter together, Plan C has also been named a finalist in the Northern Rivers Regional Business Awards, in the Outstanding Community Organisation category!

It’s pretty special to have both the work of Surviving Disasters and Plan C’s broader contribution to community recognised in this way.

Jen will be heading to Sydney next week for the Resilient Australia Awards ceremony, so we’ll be crossing everything. Whatever the outcomes, we’re really proud of the work these nominations recognise, and especially grateful to all the people and communities who make it possible.
