Taking Youth Psychological First Aid Further

Plan C, in partnership with PCYC QLD Emergency Services Cadets and QLD Kids Partnership (formerly Thriving Kids), received great feedback from their poster presentation at the AIDR conference last month. Conference presenters said that watching the videos that the cadets made themselves about the Youth Psychological First Aid (PFA) training was a great example of supporting voice and agency.

And the project keeps evolving. We’re now working with PCYC on Youth PFA facilitator training, helping build the capability to make these skills available to more young people across Queensland. The longer-term vision is for PFA to become a familiar, embedded part of how cadets and their leaders prepare, train and support one another.
